Our training is focused on the "whole" and not just its parts and seeing birth as a human right incorporating an intersectional lens that encompasses reproductive and birth justice framework into our trainings centered on communities of color and pregnant and parenting individuals.  Radical in thinking on how we shape our thoughts around birth tackling the hard issues like sexual trauma, domestic violence, discrimination, advocacy, cultural humility and more...Our focus is women of color, low income areas,  undocumented persons, and those families who want the best quality care by advocating and making informed decisions about their care.

Full Spectrum Labor & Postpartum Training

Our foundational Labor Doula certification comprises the essentials in evidence-based care from pregnancy health to postnatal health focusing on comprehensive support that focuses on the cultural and traditional aspects of birthing along with the medical information needed to assist the laboring person and family with the tools that they need to make informed decisions about the care they are receiving. 


In the postpartum portion of the training, we tackle some of the real issues in assisting from postnatal depression, transitioning into parenthood, infant feeding choices, c-section recovery, family planning options, cultural humility around birthing, family support services around food, clothes, and shelter, and family planning options.

Types of Training 

So, what's the difference between the 4 day training and the 7 Week Training?

Let's break it down so it can forever be broken!

4 Day Training 

  • Training takes place Friday 6:30-9:00 pm , Saturday -Monday from 10am-5pm

  • Great training for those who can't commit to an extended period of time.

  • Fast paced and Interactive

  • Covers the basics and more....

  • Professional development courses offered for six months following the training.

  • Two years to complete certification process.

7 Week Training 

  • Ideal for the student who wants more in-depth learning.

  • Meets twice a week from 6:30-9:00 pm 

  • Interactive, hands- on learning from various professionals within the field of reproductive health and the intersections of care. 

  • Clinical hours required.

  • Intense format of completion including projects, reports,etc.

  • Professional Development classes offered after training.

Register for our upcoming doula informational session to find out what you can expect in our training and ask questions.  The informational is a prerequisite to attending the training.

  • Are there any prerequisites for the training? Yes, attend a Doula Informational/Orientation prior to registering.

  • What if I attend an informational but can't take a training right away? if you have already attended an informational it is valid for up to one year from the date attended towards any doula training.

  • Once I attend an informational when can I register? Right away. Either online, in-person, or via our website. 

  • I currently live out of state and can't attend in person. What can I do? Out-of-State residents should call the office to setup a one on one conversation before registering for the FSDT. 

  • What's my investment? Our seven week training is $1208  and four day training is $604. 

  • Are there any payment plan options? Yes, we offer a variety of payment plan options located on our registration page. 

  • I really want to attend but funds are stretched. We offer a work-study program towards attending training proof of income and completed application are required. Most applications are approved within three business days. Once approved payment in full of $604 or deposit of half's required to secure your spot in training. 

  • I already put down a payment but can't attend the training now. What are my options? All payments & deposits made are non-refundable but transferrable for up to one year from the time you made your initial payment.
